We’re looking for a VP of Innovation to drive and improve process and product innovation strategy and operational improvements at SmileDirectClub. The VP of Innovation will lead and oversee the development, management, and execution of projects from conception to launch. This leader will act as a senior idea evangelist, and will develop machine learning tools including AI and robotic process automation to support process and product development.

We are a data-driven organization, with no shortage of complex questions to answer. We are looking for someone who can implement emerging solutions to transform the way one of the fastest growing, and industry changing companies does business. 

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other leaders to drive short-term and long term transformative solutions to business processes
• Invent, incubate and scale ideas for implementation
• Understand current and future analytical methods and capabilities to drive value in new models
• Oversee the overall architecture, development and innovation of SDC’s digital ecosystem
• Manage the product and process evolution following customer needs and business efficiency
• Oversee all aspects related to the customer experience and journey when engaging with our products ensuring quality and technical excellence
• Develop and oversee internal and external research and testing for new ideas and insights
• Develop a process strategy that drives meaningful innovation and revenue growth
• Establish and drive the execution of cutting-edge strategies in collaboration with senior product, engineering and business executives
• Establish cross-functional collaboration and new processes to increase time to market
• Provide visionary understanding of new technologies to drive the strategic vision
• Partner closely with the Executive team, and Chief Technology Officer to institute product development processes and systems which ensure rapid and successful launches.

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in computer science, marketing, engineering, or business
• MBA Preferred
• 10+ years progressive leadership experience in roles demonstrating applied analytical innovation as well as success in defining and driving transformational programs
• 5+ years of hands-on technical experience estimating and conceptualizing large scale data solutions
• A strategic thinker – able to communicate effectively and influence other leaders
• You are open-minded, passionate about your work, and can energize others
• You are committed to the timely project delivery, within budget and meeting revenue expectations
• You are analytical but focused on the end user and are constantly on the lookout for in the digital landscape
• You are proactive and entrepreneurial and behave with integrity and transparency
• Demonstrated experience in leading complex projects/products from creation to delivery and launch
• Adept at synthesizing various technologies and capabilities into the business in a way that clients and consumers will love
• Experience leading teams, demonstrating the ability to lead and deliver on various projects, perform well under pressure, and excel in providing reliable and clear communications
• A solid understanding of software solutions and machine learning
• Excellent communications skills. Able to explain complicated concepts in simple terms and partner effectively with peers. Sufficient competence as a technologist to understand opportunities and constraints while also possessing the ability to understand the language of engineering
