 SmileDirectClub is seeking an Information Architect to join our team in building the next generation of customer experiences and internal tools. As an Information Architect, you will work to define information and data flows, information/data delivery architecture and information/data tools, and define data requirements for customer and internally facing experiences and participate in design reviews.

You will work in partnership with other architects to design the best possible customer information model across all our touchpoints; collaborating with other architects and analysts to review business drivers, needs and strategies and assess the implications of the information/data architecture. You will identify, access and document business requirements, advising the business on risks and implications of specific needs while providing solutions that ultimately balance the need of data consistency from a user perspective to the needs of the organization from an operational and strategic standpoint.

Responsibilities:

• Extensive experience planning, designing and implementing rich data user experiences on ecommerce based applications both custom developed and third party.
• Taxonomy development and management
• Analyzing existing systems and planning and driving information architecture optimizations to resolve immediate pain points.
• Requirements and technical planning of all new planned systems both external and internally facing.
• Tracking research and professional literature regarding usability and web design in general.
• Attain and use the data at hand to build compelling and conversion optimized experiences for end users.
• Visualize funnel data and recommend optimizations for both user experience and conversion.
• Plan the data architecture for new systems that are global and internationalized at their core.

• Clear and concise communication skills and advanced level of English.
• A solid understanding of web application development and the core principles of information architecture.
• Core understanding of technical application architecture from a product and services standpoint
• understand how services are orchestrated to produce relevant and cohesive data to the end user.
• Familiarity with Restful and SOAP based services is required and an understanding of how consumption of such services is coordinated by various product teams.
• Ability to create site maps, flow diagrams, wireframes and use case documentation as per scope of assigned projects.
• Excellent requirement gathering skills.
• Knowledge of databases and basic SQL comfort level.
• Knowledge of service contracts and various data types, XML, JSON etc.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and coordinate with technology team members.
• Strong analytical skills.
• 5+ years’ experience working as a data/information architect at an enterprise level.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience at an enterprise level.
