Our People Support team is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our rapidly growing organization. You will be responsible managing and processing payroll for our organization. The Payroll Specialist will report to and work directly with the Payroll Manager to provide accurate, timely pay and excellent support to our SDC team members in all payroll related areas.  The Payroll Specialist will be expected to take ownership of all aspects of payroll processing, other related duties or special projects as assigned and truly understand and respect the confidentiality of payroll. 

Responsibilities: 

• Must be knowledgeable in the following areas of payroll:  payroll processing, payroll adjustments, multi-state taxes and reciprocity, garnishments, employee payroll maintenance, gross to net calculations, non-taxable benefits, taxable fringe benefits, year-end balancing, processing W-2’s and W-2c’s and other payroll related tasks 
• Balance timesheet records and manual payroll transactions to payroll system reports, research and resolve issues prior to processing payroll  
• Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll using NetSuite payroll system  
• Reconcile payroll register and tax reports to payroll transactions for each pay cycle for preparing and distributing payroll related reports to various departments and executives 
• Review monthly, quarterly and annual payroll reports to verify accurate tax filing by our payroll tax vendor 
• Work with respective Team Members, internal departments, outside agencies, etc., to resolve any payroll related issues 
• Review payroll processes and suggest ways to streamline and improve processes 
• Work on special payroll projects, payroll audits, etc., that may need to be performed on an ongoing basis 
• Ability to fully research all payroll related questions/concerns and professionally respond to employees, state agencies and all areas within the company  

It will really make us smile if you have... 

• Working knowledge of NetSuite, Ceridian, Nettime or similar payroll systems in a multi-state environment (Ulti Pro experience is a plus – we will be converting to Ulti Pro in a few months) 
• Advanced PC skills including proficiency in Excel 
• Comprehensive knowledge of payroll processing, Federal and State wage laws 
• Working knowledge of payroll best practices 
• Certified Payroll Professional preferred with a minimum of 3 years of experience processing payroll, multi-state taxes, garnishments and year-end processing  
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to meet payroll deadlines, provide exceptional customer service 
• Must be a strong, flexible, highly motivated team member with extreme attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a high-volume, fast paced, energetic work environment 
• Experience in shared services center environment preferred
