Role:
 
The Email Marketing Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and growth of the customer database and the deployment of customer-centric marketing automation campaigns across all stages of the customer journey. The Email Marketing Manager will own the analytics and reporting surrounding key KPI’s of database growth, sales, cross-selling, retention and annuity business as well as maintain the reputation of our communication with customers throughout their journey with our Company.
 
Responsibilities:
 
The Email Marketing Manager is expected to:
 
•   Lead the development and drive execution of email campaigns to lift acquisition, engagement and retention metrics.
•   Personalize automated drip campaigns with business rules based upon behaviors including open rate, previous page views, and communication preferences.
•   Continually evaluate, A/B test and optimize brand communications to soften peaks and valleys of customer journey.
•   Optimize email engagement rates, including “from” and “subject” copy, list sizes, segments, age, nurtured vs cold subscribers, etc.
•   Own email data and understanding of metrics and what drives success; possess analytical skills with the ability to select relevant data and interpret business implications.
•   Anticipate customer needs and proactively offer ideas and insights to improve any issues or challenges the customer may face during the customer journey.
•   Lead the development of new campaigns for product launches.
•   Design and execute strategy to keep the marketing database accurate and complete.
•   Partner closely with sales to establish and achieve lead generation and retention goals and align sales and marketing efforts.
•   Continually audit current campaigns for best practices including creating alerts and flags for performance.
•   Ensure SOPs, department bibles and backups are in place.
•   Manage email deliverability, including ISPs, MTAs, throttling, bounces, bulking, spam issues, and content quality. Daily monitor the health of ISPs and domains.
•   Proficient with interfacing with engineering and programming.

•   A flexible personality that can thrive in the fast-paced environment of a rapidly growing start-up company.
•   Successful track record of working with a large-scale ESP and analytics dashboards with a strong understanding of open, click, and bounce rates, a specific knowledge of SilverPop a plus.
•   Strong analytic skills with the ability to understand large amounts of data and turn it into actionable initiatives.
•   Superb cross-functional, project management and leadership skills and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
•   Ability to prioritize and manage multiple, competing interests with tact and diplomacy.
•   Expertise in implementing marketing automation tools across sales and marketing.
•   Experience setting up email workflows with various triggers
•   Experience with segmentation of lists based on certain criteria.
•   Understands agile sprint methodology and regularly interfaces with engineering a plus.
•   Background in Direct Response Marketing a plus.
•   5+ years of experience in B2C and/or B2B marketing.
•   Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
•   Understanding basics of HTML and photoshop a plus
•   Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree a plus.
