Role:

Design and user experience (UX) are at the forefront of everything we do. The UI/UX Designer will lead SmileDirectClub’s complex and innovative user experience projects. The UI/UX Designer must have a deep understanding of the customer journey and what users want and need when navigating digital media. Craftsmanship, ownership, and humor are all qualities we desire. We are looking for someone who is excited to help shape our online product, with an incredible drive to create compelling, clean visual work, and is motivated to make an impact on our fast-growing company.

Responsibilities:

• Drive interaction design across web, mobile, social, tablet and in-store.
• Conduct research, strategy development, concepting, product definition and design.  
• Create designs, personas, and user flows based around the need and understanding of our customer.
• Apply the methodologies of interaction design and research to solve business problems.
• Envision and improve the quality of User Experience products, services and campaigns throughout their design and development.
• Solve complex user problems with simple elegant solutions.

Qualifications:

• An impressive portfolio showcasing the creation of interfaces, and large-scale websites or applications.
• Engaging presentation style and visual communication skills- you should be insanely excited about your work and how to spread the enthusiasm.
• Strong sense of pride in your work, and a willingness to give and take feedback.
• Experience working collaboratively with creative and marketing teams.
• Design risk taker- pushing past the obvious, and making something you love.
• Highly conceptual thinking in visual and interaction design.
• Desire to help foster a great creative culture and define the look and feel of what is next in design trends for User Experience.
• Experience creating killer products that consider innovation and usability.
• Curiosity of a scientist and the passion of an artist.
• Desire to produce the best digital designs in the industry.
• A flexible personality that can thrive in the fast-paced environment of a rapidly growing start-up company.
• Experience with programs like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, indesign and Sketch.
• Basic knowledge of front end development languages like Html5, CSS, Javascript etc.
• 3+ years of experience with UI/UX design at an agency or internal creative team.
• Bachelor's degree.
