The Proofreader/Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for reviewing and editing all company materials for accurate use of grammar and content. Will drive standards and copy style guidelines in collaboration with our team and ensure education and implementation throughout the creative development process. Serves as the final check for accuracy and consistency across all marketing materials that include and are not limited to printed materials, digital assets, printed guides, web content and advertising campaigns.

Responsibilities:

• Proof all company materials and make sure they adhere to SmileDirectClub's brand standards.
• Proven ability to multitask, exhibit flexibility, and remain responsive as demands change.
• Review content, fact-check information and raise flags about questionable/inconsistent information.
• Copy edit and proofread electronic and print projects, including digital and hardcopy documents, video transcripts, webpages, social platforms and creative collateral to ensure accuracy — including grammar, spelling, punctuation, style and tone.
• Steward a consistent tone and voice that supports the brand.
• Collaborate with content team to help define and socialize best practices.
• Work with project management to refine standards processes.
• Scope time needed for standards reviews and work with project teams as needs evolve.

• Strong proofreading skills.
• Thorough knowledge of linguistics, grammar, punctuation, style, editing, and design concepts preferred.
• Proficiency in writing, communication and research skills
• Ability to apply knowledge of detailed style guide to ensure that project teams provide correct and consistent deliverables.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or Journalism required.
• Proven work experience of 3 years or more in lieu of degree will be considered.
• Ability to write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar; and read and interpret written information, including client direction and style guides
• Ability to work in a team environment; exhibit objectivity and openness to others’ views; and support everyone’s efforts to succeed.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-specific environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and ability to collaborate.
