Role:
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our fast-paced Accounting team. The AP Specialist will process a high volume of both internal and external payables.

Responsibilities:
• Ensure all invoices are coded to the correct general ledger accounts and cost centers.

• Interact with management and other departments for obtaining approvals for processing.

• Interact with vendors regarding issues relating to invoices.

• Maintain and organize filing of vendor invoices and other supporting documentation.

• Process check requests and wire transfers.

• Book appropriate accruals for month end close and ensure all costs have been recorded in the correct period.

• Manage expense reporting responsibilities.

• Assist with and ensure successful quarterly and year end audits in areas related to accounts payable.

• Participate in ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be a highly motivated and organized individual, with the capacity to perform in a dynamic environment.  The Accounts Payable Specialist must also possess the following skill sets:

•   3+ years of accounts payable experience.

•   Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

•   Ability to work independently with little instruction and can adapt to change.

•   Excellent attention to detail.

•   Ability to work well with others in a team environment.

•   Effective communication skills and customer service approach.

•   Action-oriented and solution-driven and able to work in a fast pace environment.

•   Highly organized, accurate and detail-oriented.

•   A sense of humor and passion for making people smile
