SmileDirectClub is seeking a Mobile focused Enterprise Solutions Architect to join our team. As an expert in the realm of mobile development, performance and scale are the tenants of your design. Your in-depth knowledge and experience of both IOS and Android ecosystems will allow you to design first class mobile app offerings that will reflect SmileDirectClub’s brand, mission and products in the best possible way. You will play a key role in establishing a performance driven culture in a newly established mobile development team providing technical insight, mentorship as well as exercising your expert problem solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor and support a team of passionate technical professionals fostering a high performance culture.
• You will be a part of setting a culture of creativity, innovation and excellence in all areas of engineering and technology.
• Establish and follow coding standards and best practices for mobile development.
• Collaborate with a team of architects working on multiple diverse projects.
• Mentor and train developers.
• Provide architectural expertise in all areas of mobile application development.
• Motivate and inspire developers and evangelize the architecture’s features for the enterprise.
• Build technical proof of concepts for emerging requirements.
• Convert technical proofs into working software in a clear and concise fashion.
• Analyze and optimize inefficiencies in existing systems .
• Identify and implement enterprise level best practices regarding distributed architecture and persistence at scale.
• Ensure that all selected tooling is in line with the company technology strategy.

• Clear and concise communication skills and advanced level of English.
• Multiple examples of native mobile applications in production on either iOS or Android.
• Experience with a hybrid mobile application framework such as react native.
• Experience building mobile app middleware/gateway components to orchestrate an underlying service layer.
• Experience with Objective C or Swift, Java or Kotlin.
• C#, Python, Scala, Go or Ruby experience.
• Extensive cloud experience preferably in Amazon Web Services or Azure.
• Experience working with and establishing a mobile app continuous integration and deployment pipeline.
• NoSQL and search engine experience; ElasticSearch, Couchbase, Redis, Mongo, Dynamo
• RDBMS experience; Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle
• Interoperability framework experience; Protocol Buffers or equivalent.
• Demonstrable micro-service/SOA design and implementation experience.
• Expert knowledge in service topology, protocol, security and discovery; SOAP, REST
• Understanding of multi-threaded and concurrent programming techniques.
• Understanding and implementation experience of enterprise mobile application architectural patterns.
• Full understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with implementing and configuring API gateways.
• 7+ years’ of overall technical implementation experience as either a senior developer or team lead.
• 5+ years of experience as an enterprise architect.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience at an enterprise level.
