As Maintenance/Facility Manager of Smile Direct Club, you will plan, direct and oversee facility operations; maintain the mechanical integrity of the plant/process equipment and overall facilities; manage facility and equipment mechanical maintenance; manage repair and preventive maintenance; and manage janitorial services, waste reduction improvements, and safety regulations. Specifically, you'll manage and/or perform installation, repair, and maintenance of facilities and equipment including ceiling tile replacement, air and water filter replacement, lamping, door hardware, flooring, bathroom fixtures, minor wallboard patching/painting, hanging whiteboards, art work, and shelving. Additionally, you will perform preventive maintenance of major facility equipment including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and critical laboratory equipment. You'll be required to test, troubleshoot, and/or repair facility equipment and systems requiring the isolation of the malfunction, disassembly of equipment and possible repair/replacement of electrical and electromechanical equipment.

 

Things to DO:
 

  • Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments. The company is in a major growth mode and additional fulfillment capacity is required. Will be involved in the build out processes.

  • Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health, safety standards and regulations.

  • Create and maintain facility controls to meet FDA requirements.

  • Experience working to regulatory standards: FDA, Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Good Documentation Procedures (GDP).

  • Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations (ongoing at the moment due to growth).

  • Review utility consumption and strive to minimize costs.

  • Supervise all staff facilities staff (custodians, technicians, groundskeepers etc.) and external contractors.

  • Provide project support as a subject matter expert in the areas of facility maintenance & reliability, facility/utility design and operations.

  • Control activities like custodial needs, parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security, etc.

  • Preserve the condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well functioning.

  • Ensure that the grounds are kept to the highest of cleanliness standards.

  • Provide exceptional customer service and create strong partnerships with internal and external partners such as: Human Resources, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Finance, Information Technology, Engineering, and Security.

  • Must be accessible to the Antioch area of Nashville.
     
Things to BE/HAVE:
 
  • 5 years of experience as a Facilities Manager or equivalent.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Organizational and leadership skills.

  • Desire for Continuous Improvement.

  • Knowledge of basic finance principles.

  • Devoted to ensuring that all employees are operating in a safe and stable work environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. College degree a "good to have."
