The Sr. Manufacturing Process Engineer develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub assemblies and final assemblies. He/She interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. He/She also maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead internal and cross-functional team based process development and improvement efforts
• Coordinate Risk Assessment on new products and processes.
• Chair meetings and lead projects for corrective action and/or preventative action.
• Ensure that the use and application of manufacturing processes, techniques, and tools are optimal in terms of quality and productivity.
• Research, develop, refine, and implement new state of the art manufacturing processes, methods, and technologies.
• Integrate and automate existing manufacturing systems and processes.
• Implement and champion continuous process improvement methodologies and techniques.
• Establish process capabilities; monitor and perform audits of all processes; provide technical support to operations with existing processes and commercialization of new processes.
• Develop and conduct process and equipment training courses and produce associated course material.
• Optimize equipment utilization, determine and implement plant layout, and material flows to optimize operations. Analyze, specify, and implement material handling equipment that cost effectively improves operations.
• Ensures the effective fulfillment of objectives and deadlines assigned to the group.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

It will really make us SMILE if...

• BA/BS degree in engineering or the sciences preferred.
• Advanced technical degree preferred but not required.
• 10 years of experience in Mechanical or Process Engineering or related field.
• Experience in Medical Device or Pharmaceuticals manufacturing in a FDA regulated environment helpful but not mandatory.
• Master Black Belt, Black belt or green belt in Six Sigma preferred. Demonstrated history of successful application of Six Sigma methodologies required.
