Description

As a key member of the Executive Management team of SmileDirectClub, the General Manager of SmileDirectClub Holdings, LLC, is responsible for supporting the Professional Corporation(s) (PCs) and the PCs’ owners to insure compliance with legal regulations; compliance with state regulatory agencies; licensure and certifications of Orthodontists and Dentists working within the PC structure; and oversite of all financial, legal and revenue cycle management duties for the Holdings company.

Essential Functions

At the request of the PCs or as contractually specified in the Services Agreement between SDC Holdings Company and the Professional Corporations, the General Manager will support the PCs and PC owners in the following aspects of the business:

  • Ensure all budget and production expectations, as set by the PC owners, are met or exceeded, and that financial data and records are prepared and financial audits are successfully conducted .

  • Continually build and nurture a positive working relationship with the PCs’ doctors.

  • Organize monthly meetings to facilitate the resolution of concerns by the PCs. 

  • Follow HIPAA policies and procedures and other applicable privacy and security policies and procedures established by the PCs  to maintain patient privacy and protect patient information including financial, personal, and health information.

  • Provide oversight for the PCs’  managed care component (scheduling, fee schedules, collections, etc.).

  • At the request of the PCs, ensure that staff is trained and on current PC processes, policies and procedures.

Strategic Planning

  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action within the Holding Company and at the request of the PCs.

  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance business opportunities while ensuring compliance in all legal and regulatory areas.

  • Evaluate and advise on key management personnel, processes and systems designed to enhance the overall effectiveness of the Holdings Company.

Operational Strategy & Efficiencies

  • Provide day-to-day expertise to assist PC owners in successfully integrating goals and strategies for the PCs.

  • Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all processes internal and external, as they relate to these areas, and advise PC owners accordingly.

  • Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the holding companies and any outstanding legal or regulatory changes for the PC’s.

  • Advise PC owners on the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes in the identified operational areas of the Holdings Company; including, legal, regulatory, human resources, revenue cycle management and operations.

  • Advise PC owners on development and implementation of plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of the PC’s.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Healthcare Administration.

  • MBA Preferred.

  • 8+ years of complex business and managerial experience or equivalent.

  • Experience in Dental Services Organization Preferred.

  • Extremely resourceful, highly creative and high energy, able to brainstorm and implement new ideas.

  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.

  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
